This 5 Days Uganda Safari takes you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Day 1: Travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, pickup from the hotel. Start the journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to almost half of the world’s remnant population of mountain gorillas. The journey is amazing and you will make two stopovers: at the Uganda Equators for memorable photographs and in Mbarara town for lunch. Proceed to the park for dinner and Overnight at Chameleon Hill Lodge / Lake Mutanda Lodge (Luxury)
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest
Early breakfast at the lodge. After breakfast, the guide will drive you the trailhead of Rushaga in Southern Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. We will go with some packed lunch. Go for a briefing about the ‘Dos’ and ‘Don’ts’ of the gorilla trekking session you are to take.
Guided by park rangers, you will start the hike into the forest to start the search for the mountain gorillas. Gorilla Tracking can take between 2-8 hours depending on the movements of the gorilla family that you will be assigned to track.
Gorilla Tracking involves walking up steep and densely forested hills before finally coming across the gorillas camouflaged in their vegetation. Upon meeting the great apes, you will stay with these giant apes for 1 hour for observation and photography.
After the gorilla trek, have a lunch at the Lodge. Relax at the lodge all afternoon. Overnight at Chameleon Hill Lodge / Lake Mutanda Lodge (Luxury)
Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Have Breakfast. Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park, a world biosphere reserve with an amazing array of flora and fauna. This is also Uganda’s second largest national park and it is packed with a beautiful combination of forests, grasslands and waterscapes.
We will enter the park via the Ishasha Sector known for hosting the tree climbing lions. From the open roofed safari vehicle, look out for the tree climbing lions. You will have enroute lunch and proceed to Mweya where you will reach late in the evening. Check in for dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge
Day 4: Game Drives in Queen Elizabeth National Park
Early breakfast. Go for a morning game drive in the Queen Elizabeth National Park. Several animals can be seen during a game drive in the park. These include large mammals as well as big cats including lions, leopards, and more. The game drive is through savanna grasslands.
Return to the lodge for lunch. Go for a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a water getaway connecting Lake Edward and Lake George. This waterway hosts incredible waterbased animals as well as land mammals that come for a drink. You can see crocodiles, hippos, elephants, buffaloes, etc. Overnight at the Mweya Safari Lodge
Day 5: Morning Game Drive & Transfer to Kampala
Go for a morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Travel back to Kampala. Drop off at the hotel or Entebbe Airport
