WHERE TO STAY
At Mweya there is an upmarket lodge, a campsite and budget hostel. Another upmarket lodge fringes a crater lake in Maramagambo Forest. A low key camp is found in the Ishasha Sector. Accommodation is also available in Kasese.

Mweya Safari Lodge offers visitors an unforgettable experience. Pumba Safari Cottages is positioned in Kyambura in the east of Queen Elizabeth National Park. It offers budget accommodation for Uganda safari undertakers in three cozy cottages that have impressive views of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Every cottage has got two comfortable beds and a bathroom with shower. Warm water is available through solar heating. Pumba Safari Cottages have got a restaurant and bar.

It is the closest accommodation to QE’s Kasenyi plains on the edge of Lake George, the famed mating grounds for the Uganda Kobs and thus the most preferred area for game viewing drives. It is also closest to the other areas of northern Queen Elizabeth National Park, including the Mweya Peninsula and the Kazinga Channel; well known for launch cruises, close range game-viewing as well as bird-viewing. There is also an opportunity to go for guided chimpanzees tracking in Kyambura Gorge.
Jacana Safari Lodge looks out onto a crater lake in Queen Elizabeth National Park in western Uganda. It is an environmentally friendly lodge which has done its bit to protect the local environment as it is made pretty much entirely from local materials. Catch a tan beside the pool during the day and wallow in the warm waters. The cozy Virunga Lounge with its roaring fireplace is a welcome retreat in the cool evening as is the steaming sauna.

Convenient options just outside the park include Hippo Hill Camp close to Katwe and Kingfisher Camp on the lovely Kichwamba escarpment. A new lodge is under construction in the Kyambura Wildlife Reserve.
